In this position you will provide primary care which includes health histories, physical examinations, analyzing laboratory findings, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans. As the Primary Care APRN you will also provide direction and information to patient’s families, unit staff, department heads, support services, community agencies, and administration. Responsibilities include: • Provide direct advanced practice nursing care for primary care issues • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute or chronic health issues • Conduct work in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers • Prescribe medications and monitor and manage for side effects • Serve on medical, nursing, and facility committees • Provide health education to patients and clients
• Graduation from a program of study designed to prepare the individual for advanced practice as a nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist in family practice or internal medicine • Certification with a national professional nursing organization as a nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Minnesota • Authorization from the Minnesota Board of Nursing to prescribe drugs and therapeutic devices
