As a Behavior Modification Assistant (BMA) you will be responsible for supporting individuals who are in our short- and long-term housing program. These individuals may have intellectual disabilities, mental illness, brain injury, and other emotional, behavioral, medical complexities. In this position you will ensure the people we serve achieve their highest quality of life and personal growth! You will do this by: • Assisting in assessing individual's needs by performing direct care duties • Developing and implementing residential and habilitation support plans with goals and methods. • Evaluating and documenting out-comes, maintaining or modifying the plans and performing related work as required. • Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports to individuals with challenging behaviors. • Site: ICS Apartment Complex • Location: Minneapolis, MN • This is located in downtown Minneapolis • EASE Level: 4 • Staffing level: staffing levels will be unique in this setting. Staff will work with individuals on a designated number of direct support hours a day. Staff will work with several individuals in a day. Each individual will live in their own apartment and not have direct supervision during the day. Staff will work on site, but individuals worked with and time working with each individual will vary from day to day and needs of the supported individuals. Direct supervision will be different than a typical group home. Instead of providing supervision, staff time will be used for specific supports including but not limited to, community access, accessing transportation and skill building in areas such as home care, personal needs care, relationship building, money management and many more. • Age Range: This is a new development so there are not any current residents. Residents will be at least 18 years of age. • Diagnoses: this is still to be determined but will include individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and related conditions *Site description narratives are subject to change at any time as individuals residing in the home or program or their level of care required may change.
