As a Behavior Modification Assistant (BMA) you will be responsible for supporting individuals who are in our short- and long-term housing program. These individuals may have intellectual disabilities, mental illness, brain injury, and other emotional, behavioral, medical complexities. In this position you will ensure the people we serve achieve their highest quality of life and personal growth! You will do this by: • Assisting in assessing individual's needs by performing direct care duties • Developing and implementing residential and habilitation support plans with goals and methods. • Evaluating and documenting out-comes, maintaining or modifying the plans and performing related work as required. • Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports to individuals with challenging behaviors. • Site Name: Pine City Child & Adolescent Services (CAS) • Town: Pine City, Minnesota • Rural or Urban Setting: Rural; 3.25 miles from I-35 • Ease Level: 4 • Staffing Level: The site provides housing for up to 4 individuals at any given time. Typically, 3:4 awake and 1:4 asleep staffing ratio, or as dictated by behavioral needs, will be maintained. • Age Range: Age 13+ • Diagnoses: Prevalent diagnostic types i.e. ID, MI, OCD, FASD, Depression, Schizophrenia, etc. SIB; Physical aggression; Property destruction; Emesis/rumination; Pica (eating/chewing/sucking inanimate objects); Self-stimulation Polydipsia; Elopement; Idiosyncratic behavior (bizarre and unique); Subjective symptoms (Psychotic-like); Suicide ideation or attempts; Sexual Aggression; diabetes, seizures. *Site description narratives are subject to change at any time as individuals residing in the home or program or their level of care required may change.
