As a Direct Support Specialist, you will be a member of a team who helps provide essential services to Minnesota’s most vulnerable residents. On a day-to-day basis, you will: • Assist individuals when needed in the performance of work, recreation, and activities of daily living • Lift, move, or position non-ambulatory or ambulatory individuals • Administer medications, implement instructions, and act accordingly as directed • Respond to medical emergencies, including first aid and CPR • Transport and accompany individuals to medical appointments, community outings, recreational activities, and spiritual events • Respond therapeutically to individuals with challenging behaviors. Site: MSOCS Allen Path Town: Faribault Rural or Urban setting: Urban Setting EASE level: Ease level 2 Staffing: Minimum staffing is one awake staff, 24 hr (HST or SDS). Typical schedule includes: one staff 10 hr overnight.; one staff in the morning, one staff in the evening, and one staff overlapping the day and evening shift. Age range of residents: 40-70 Diagnosis types: Parkinson’s, Mental Illness, Autism, Diabetes, and Intellectual Disability.

PLEASE NOTE: Any time an employee bids, voluntarily transfers, or voluntarily demotes to fill a vacancy in an existing MSOCS, any previously approved vacation may be rescinded if any employee already working in the MSOCS has approved leave for any of the days.
